199 Days to go…

199 Days to go…

The countdown clock has hit 199 days until retirement and we hit the road to full timing in the RV. The RV pick up is a little over a Month away. From a readiness standpoint, I think we are getting close to finalizing all the things we need for the pick up trip. The route has been chosen, reservations made for hotel and RV campgrounds. I still need to purchase a few things like the tow bar. I need to…

New email subscription form

New email subscription form

Now that I am getting more experienced at Word Press and how to add in plug ins to the Web Site, I added a different plug in for the email notification, that was improved over the one I had.  The new one forces the receiver to acknowledge the sign up to try and cut down on spammers signing up and it would also allow someone to opt out.  I do not expect someone to really want to opt out of…

Lifestyle yes, but more of a community

Lifestyle yes, but more of a community

Those that know me, know that I can at times be on the quiet side, less apt to interact with those around me.  But this RV lifestyle we are about to embark on has an entire community around it that the Internet has brought it together in ways that 10 years ago would not have happened. Between the different forums you can gain so much knowledge, with all the different Blog’s and YouTube Channels, you can find folks who are…

What to do while waiting….more planning of course

What to do while waiting….more planning of course

Our new RV is now at the dealer, Sherman RV, but due to work commitments, we will not pick it up until the 31th of May, so what to do while we wait?  In reality, the shift from a almost 3,000 sq ft Townhouse to about 300 sq ft RV is going to be a challenge, and you thought Tiny Houses on HGTV were small.  So a lot of planning needs to go into the conversion and here is just…

computers…have to love and hate them at the same time

I was spending some time working to add a few parts to the web site, I added a map feature, worked on some countdown timers and then decided to add a tweek to the contact lists. It was supposed to just allow me as the admin to collect in one place all the web feedback, but somehow it also at the same time decided to send out notifications and putting in dead links.   Once I saw what it did,…

The color in sunlight…

The color in sunlight…

One of the things that was not coming out well is what the metallic bronze color looks like in the bright sun, I have seen it on another coach in the bright sun, but being spring in the south, most of the pictures I have been sent were during overcast and cloudy days.  So finally I got some under the bright sun and here is what she looks like:

The Eagle has landed…..

The Eagle has landed…..

So the RV shipped early from the factory and is now sitting at our dealer, Sherman RV in Sherman Mississippi, http://www.shermanrv.com which is just an hour away from the Tiffin Motorhome’s factory in Red Bay, Alabama.  My sales person, Carol Cole, gave me a call and wanted to discuss when I could pick the Motorhome up.  Looking at my calendar and the work trips I have committed to, we came up with 31 May pick up which is a week earlier…

To Sell or Rent…that was the question

To Sell or Rent…that was the question

One of the biggest potential obstacles to the lifestyle switch to the RV was to figure out what to do with the townhouse that we currently own (ok, we own just a part and a bank technically owns the rest) in National Harbor.  We have lived here for just two years, and the builder is still building them and have new ones for sale.  Overall the investment in the area is going strong.  MGM has invested something on the order…
