Due to some reviews from fellow bloggers, I was excited to get reservations to Catalina State Park on the North side of Tucson Az.  Eric and Tina run a fish hatchery in South Dakota for 8 months of the year and then run south to Az to do some hiking and biking in the winter months.   They have a nice you tube channel called “GoneNoMad” and due to their recommendations, I decided to try a few Arizona State Parks….

We recently drove to El Paso and stayed a few days at the Fort Bliss RV Campground.  It was right next to the highway, so you did get the noise when sitting outside but the cost was only $114 for the week.  We did have a few days of rain and were able to go to the largest exchange we have seen, it was set up like an outside shopping mall with different companies along with main exchange.  We did…

San Antonio and Friends

We were able to spend about a week in San Antonio.  We stayed at Fort Sam Houston, which is only a few miles from the heart of the city.  The RV Park was nice and I think it took us the same amount of time to get from the gate to the RV Park as the time to get from the gate to Downtown.  Great place to stay. Austin, Texas and a new year

Austin, Texas and a new year

Since we had some time from the solar install, we visiting a small local town of Gruene, pronounced “Green”, that was started as a farm settled by a German family and a small town grew up from it.  It has a very old dance hall with live music, several nice restaurants and shops.   At the end of the solar install, we smoked Turkey breasts for a Christmas dinner and the next day shared it with Greg and Cori from…
