Lifestyle yes, but more of a community
Those that know me, know that I can at times be on the quiet side, less apt to interact with those around me. But this RV lifestyle we are about to embark on has an entire community around it that the Internet has brought it together in ways that 10 years ago would not have happened. Between the different forums you can gain so much knowledge, with all the different Blog’s and YouTube Channels, you can find folks who are doing this and interact with them to gain a better understanding and use the wisdom and knowledge they have gained to make your journey easier and with less stress.
We just spent the afternoon with Marissa and Nathan and their beautiful daughter Hensley. They have a great YouTube channel called Less Junk More Journey and web site. They seemed to be very down to earth, and were raising their daughter while traveling and seeing the country. I saw they were in Virginia and told them that if they were coming up to the DC area we would like to meet them and show them National Harbor. They got back to us and said that would be great and that they would be in the area in a short while. We were able to connect today and had a great afternoon sharing stories and talking about living in the RV and the experiences they have had. Life is short and it is easy to get caught up in the day to day 9-5 jobs and not have the time to see and do all that we want to do and able to do while younger. This is part of the reason Cathy and I decided to go and retire now, while we still have good health and can do things.
I applaud these guys for deciding to go out and seek the adventure and spend time with their daughter. Today we can do work and manage more things remotely and slowly the traditional office work on a set schedule is changing and I am glad folks like these have that opportunity.
I have met some great folks and I am sure I will meet even more on the Journey as we get going. It does bring out the more social side of me, I don’t know if that is good or bad (depends on the day?) but it is fun to meet folks doing similar things and sharing experiences and I am looking forward to it.
Check out the Less Junk More Journey YouTube channel, you will see why we had a fun time today. Thanks guys for taking the time to get together and hope to run into you again soon. I am sure the Girls look forward to playing with Hensley again…
