Oops, we did it again…
Well, we have been living in our 39 foot RV for 5 years, hard to believe that much time has gone by. We have been having discussions of whether to continue to be nomads or to maybe settle down someplace. But we like the freedom to go and visit with family. We are all getting older, all of my side of the family is over 60 and we want to spend more time as they retire and have more free time. My older brother Dean is starting his own compound in Wyoming and I would like to spend some time helping him out. We need to periodically go see little Nora as she is growing up so fast. So the long story is we plan to continue to RV for the next 5 years or longer. We figure we will kidnap Nora as we can and show her the world and introduce her to the rest of my family and Cathy’s.
Now that we settled that part of the equation, the next question is with what? The easy answer is the Tiffin we have been using for the past 5 years, we have made several modifications to make it better for us and it is in great shape. But we cannot add any size to it. The only complaint is that it is tight quarters right as you come in past the captains chairs due to the table on one side and the pull out recliner on the other.
So after much debate and a look at our finances, we have decided to upgrade the RV to a slightly used 2020 Tiffin Phaeton 44OH, which is a 45 foot RV with a bath and 1/2. It has a more open plan with a living area right behind the captains chairs with the TV behind the couch in one slide out with recliners across from it in the other slide out. The kitchen is across from the dining area and then you have the 1/2 bath across from the Refer.
It just opens the RV up more by moving the full bath to the rear. Here’s some additional pictures.
The interior has the same color scheme as our current one with the dark cabinets we like, heated tile flooring with dishwasher, washer and dryer. It has a bigger rear closet for us which will be nice and a more open bedroom. These are the pictures from the dealer and we will post more when we go get it in a week or so. We are both excited for this next chapter.
So we headed to Mississippi to Sherman RV to pick it up. Here is our pictures and you can see our RV parked nearby.
now the fun part of moving what my guess is 5,000 pounds of stuff from our old RV to the new one.
it was an all day marathon and we left the following morning to make our way back to Florida and our winter home in Saint Augustine.
Next up was to start the modifications….
stay tuned and I will try and document what changes we make to the unit, first up is the reverse osmosis water purification system….
