Acting like kids again

Acting like kids again

We still refuse to act our ages and grow up, even in retirement that is. As you could probably guess we went back to Disney World again and used more of our annual passes. We did see all four theme parks, including one day where we jumped between three parks in a single day. So in summary, we stayed again at Fort Wilderness Campground so we had the dogs with us: We spent time just enjoying the Christmas decorations in…

Plan Changes, winter in Florida

Plan Changes, winter in Florida

As anything in life, little curve balls come your way and you have to be flexible. Our original plans were to stay in Florida a month visiting my brother and then head to Houston to spend the winter. Cathy would go back to working in Houston at Closets by Design. Well, after about three weeks, with the nice weather, Cathy asked if we could stay longer and maybe winter in Florida than in Houston which she was not a great…

So after our wonderful stay at the “lake house” on Lake Norman, NC, we headed due south to Saint Augustine, Florida for a planned month long stay. Moochdocking at a Mansion…

Moochdocking at a Mansion…

So after a great visit with family, we headed south to see my former employee, Bob and his lake house. Lake house doesn’t come close to describing the 10,000 sq ft mansion right on Lake Norman in North Carolina. He has been asking me to come visit, so I decided the time was right… Here is the “lake house”…. We were able to tuck the RV into his driveway which is luckily one of the bigger ones on the block….

Mooch Docking with Family

Mooch Docking with Family

We headed north to New Hampshire to start a three week visit with Cathy’s family. We are staying at Cathy’s younger brother, Kevin’s place in South Berwick just across the Maine border, he has both electricity and water and a nice driveway to mooch dock at. The only negative is the trees block out normal automatic satellite system that uses the western arc of satellites. The problem is, in the northeast, the satellites are very low in the south western…

A tattoo at your age ?

A tattoo at your age ?

So last September on our family cruise, I made a wise crack to my daughter about maybe I be more like her and get a tattoo… Erin has quite a few and her response was more along the lines of “ that would be great “ vice the “ewww, Dad you are too old for a tattoo” that I thought would be her response. We decided that we would both get one and settled on a nautical theme, me to…

Harrisonburg, VA Workcamp

Harrisonburg, VA Workcamp

Since it was getting really hot in Houston, we decided to take a break and go see family on the east coast. First up was seeing our kids who both live in Virginia. Our daughter Erin lives in Harrisonberg, while Jonathan lives about an hour away in Charlottesville. There is a nice RV park north of Harrisonberg near the highway making the 20 minute trip into town real easy. The main objective was to spend time but also completely redo…

The new Jeep has landed…

So our new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JLUR) finally arrived after just 3 1/2 weeks from order placement until delivery. Here are some of the pictures of the as delivered Jeep… My Inspiration for the color choice…from my history… So first up was putting on a new bumper and I went with a similar model to the one I had on the last Jeep, a Rockhard 4×4 Patriot, mid length Aluminum bumper set up for flat towing.
